One of the main features of Colored foam board is its light weight. Compared with traditional wooden boards or metal sheets, foam boards are lighter and easier to transport and install. Despite its lighter weight, its stiffness and load-bearing properties make it an ideal replacement in many applications. Another distinguishing feature is recyclability. Colored foam boards are mostly made of polystyrene (PS) or polyvinyl chloride (PVC). These materials can be recycled through professional channels after use, reducing environmental pollution and contributing to sustainable development. Today, with increasing environmental awareness, the recyclability of foam board makes it a green building material choice. Colored foam boards also have excellent processing properties and can be easily cut, engraved and printed to adapt to various creative needs.

    The colored PVC foam board is manufactured from virgin recyclable material, combining light weight with structural rigidity across thicknesses from 3mm to 25mm. The closed-cell foam core delivers density options between 0.4 and 0.8 g/cm³, allowing selection between lightweight display panels or denser sheets for load-bearing applications. More than ten integral colors are available without surface painting — the pigment is distributed throughout the foam matrix. The standard sheet size 1220x2440mm (4x8 feet) works with most CNC routers, laser cutters, and screen printing lines. After use, the material can be reground and recycled into non-critical foam products, reducing waste in production chains.

    Produced from prime PVC resin without recycled content contamination. Fully recyclable under class 3 plastic stream. Regrind can be reintroduced up to 15% in base layers without property loss.

    Density 0.4–0.8 g/cm³. 0.4–0.5 for suspended displays and lightweight signage; 0.6–0.8 for structural parts, furniture components, and industrial fixtures.

    Thickness flexibility 3–25mm

    3mm, 5mm, 8mm, 10mm, 12mm, 15mm, 18mm, 20mm, 25mm. Each thickness maintains flatness tolerance ±0.3mm. Suitable for digital printing, die-cutting, and thermoforming (limited).

    Fabrication & handling

    Cutting — Carbide-tipped circular blades (10–12 TPI) or CNC router with single-flute O-flute bits. Speed: 12,000–18,000 RPM.
    Printing — UV flatbed, solvent, eco-solvent, and screen printing. No pre-treatment required. Avoid temperatures above 65°C during drying.
    Adhesion — Solvent-based PVC cement, double-sided acrylic foam tape, or polyurethane adhesives. Clean surface with isopropyl alcohol before bonding.
    Storage — Keep boards flat on clean dry surface. Avoid stacking heavy objects. Store away from direct sunlight and heat >50°C.

    Technical FAQ

    What does “virgin material” mean for foam board?
    Virgin PVC resin means the board is produced from first-use polymer without post-industrial or post-consumer recycled content. This provides consistent density, color uniformity, and predictable machining behavior. Despite being virgin, the board remains fully recyclable at end of life.
    Can you match a specific Pantone color?
    Yes. Custom color matching is available for orders above minimum quantity (typically 500 sheets). Lead time for custom color development ranges 10–15 working days.
    Which density is suitable for 3mm sheet?
    For 3mm thickness, density 0.5–0.6 g/cm³ provides rigidity for signage. Lower density 0.45 g/cm³ for flexible banners; higher density 0.7 g/cm³ for applications requiring extra stiffness.
    Is this foam board UV stable for outdoor use?
    Standard grade offers limited outdoor life (3–6 months depending on color intensity). For extended outdoor exposure (1+ years), request UV-stabilized formulation with added light absorbers.
    How is the board recycled?
    Clean production scrap or post-use boards can be shredded, granulated, and reprocessed into new foam sheets or solid PVC profiles. Local recycling facilities accepting PVC plastic (code 3) can process the material.
